Ride to the Wall 2009

Due to not being very well, I haven't done much writing of late - so I haven't much to report on that front at the moment. I do have several half written stories that need to get finished, though, so I'm hoping that I'll start feeling more creative soon.

Last weekend I was lucky enough to attend Ride to the Wall 2009 which is where a group of bikers meet and ride to The National Memorial Arboretum in memory of those that can no longer ride by their side; i.e. those killed in battle since WWII. The event was said to be the UK's largest gathering of bikers for a single cause. An estimated five thousand people attended.

It was amazing to see all of the bikes coming in, all different models and sizes, etc. After the initial excitement, things grew more somber in the run up to the ceremony, which was very touching, in particular for those that have personally known someone who was lost.

Finally, a Spitfire did a fly-by, an emotional time for everyone there, I feel. It's something you are incredibly lucky to see and I certainly feel privileged to have done so.

Next year I think I'll be riding pillion on my dad's motorbike to see it from the other side. Apparently people were lining the roads and crowding onto road bridges to wave the riders on. It's clearly something people feel strongly about and it's fantastic to see such displays of national pride and caring for our boys and girls who serve to protect.

Publishing Announcement - Temptations Volume 2

Hi all - good news! My story Posh Boy has been selected for inclusion in Temptations Volume 2, published by Xcite! It's about a girl who simply can't resist a posh accent on a man - wonder where that idea came from? ;)

Anyway, the idea of the Temptations range is they're mini-books, with just 96 pages, ideal for when you're travelling or simply short on time. I'm not sure who else is going to be included in this anthology, but if the delightful cover is anything to go by... I'm positive it's going to be HOT!!!

Pre-order your copies now (release date 16th November) - RRP £2.99:
From Amazon.co.uk: Click here
From BookDepository.co.uk: Click here

Alternatively, click on the Xcite banner on this blog or my website and purchase directly from Xcite, where you'll earn loyalty points!

Being Writerly

I know I've been quiet on here of late, but I have been working away, on stories and reviews, etc. I'm currently working my way through lots of calls for submission, which include: being naked, uniforms (ooh, my favourite!), lesbian fairy tale, red hot lesbian erotica, manual workers (i.e. plumbers, carpenters, etc), female orgasms, and many more. Some, as I'm sure you appreciate, are easier than others. The lesbian ones in particular are difficult, given I'm straight. Which is why I was quite surprised when my story was selected for I Kissed A Girl. Guess I was just lucky!

As a writer, though, I have to have a good imagination, so I'm certainly hoping it will spring into life throughout all this writing I'm doing. At some point though, I'm going to have to stop fulfilling the calls for submission for short stories and start writing my novel. There's no point me keep talking about it, and thinking about it, I'm just going to have to do it! With no set deadline though, I've no idea how I'm going to keep focussed. Any writers out there with any tips?

Ladies' Driving Challenge - Pics & Final Amount

Today I completed the Ladies' Driving Challenge in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. Here are a selection of photographs:

Motorbike...

Fire engine...

Pink skip lorry...

Skid car...

Articulated lorry with a trailer, which I had to reverse round a corner!

Articulated lorry which I took round the circuit, getting into 11th gear! (Out of 12)

Oooh argh! Tractor!

Gritter/snow plough...

It was a good day, something fun to do in the name of charity, and I'm pleased to report that I obliterated the suggested target of £100, and even smashed my own personal target of £200... finally raising £267 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
